Dee’s Delights

A very happy Tuesday evening to you!  Welcome to this weeks Dee’s Delights.  I hope you’ve had a fabulous week…I certainly have!  So much great stuff going on at the moment, so I’ll get right down to it and share some of the happy highlights…

Walk:  This magical sky captured on a beautiful afternoon walk.

Work: maa organics website.  I did it! I started! That’s the main thing right?!  It’s evolving as we speak.

Work: massages in the peaceful Julatten Studio and the Daintree Rainforest…does it get any better?

B-School: I’ve met, messaged and spoken to some amazing women who are enrolled in B-School!  And now have two mega-inspiring ladies as accountability partners who I’ll be keeping in regular contact with.  We’ll be updating each other on our goals and progress as we make our way through the course.  Very exciting indeed!  And lots of goodies from the Path To Wellness for signing up through their link…thank you thank you thank you!

And it all began today!  YAY!!!  all downloaded and ready to go!

On a little disappointing note, I didn’t win the scholarship to the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.  A big congrats to the lucky lady who won.  It’s obviously not quite the right time for me yet, but I will find a way to do it.  I found out today that they often offer discounted prices – a big plus and something to keep my eye out for!

Hair Cut: by the lovely Jennifer Campbell.  Just a little trim and tidy up as the growing project continues!  It feels like it’s gradually getting there, even had some comments lately about how it looks longer!

Weekend  Away Wardrobe Planning: Help! Autumn! Just how cold is it going to be? I can almost hear some of you laughing at that…anything under 25 degrees Celsius is cold for me.  Hmmm, maybe I should pack my winter coat after all! And I do need some closed in shoes!…will have to pack my boots just in case!

and other decadent delights… coconut water  – blueberries – feeling honoured – phone catchups – Canberra connections – purring pussycats – new magazines and positive thoughts.

And from Pinterest this week, a reminder of just how wonderful you are…

Inspiration from Sedona Aromatherapie

Hello everyone!  Today I would like to welcome Sharon from Sedona Aromatherapie.  We met some time ago on Facebook and after writing a couple of posts for Sharon’s blog I finally have the pleasure of featuring her here on Dee’s Dialogue.  She recently travelled to France and here she shares some of the inspiring things from that trip.

Thank you for sharing it with us Sharon, I hope to see you here again soon.

Without further ado, here it is…enjoy!

Finding Inspiration In France

Last month, I embarked on a grand adventure to France.  As I grew up in England and lived there until a life change found me relocating to the United States in 2006, France was just the “next country over.”  Consequently, at the age of sixteen, my first trip overseas was to the wonderful city of Paris.  Over the years, I revisited Paris many times but had never really ventured to the south of the country – until I decided to take an aromatherapy study trip to France this year.

The study trip itself was educational and motivating but during my time away (which included a short sojourn in Paris and a trip to see family and friends in England) I found some much needed inspiration to renew my energy and direction for my aromatherapy business.  They say a picture paints a thousand words, so I would like to share with you some of the things in which I found inspiration from during my trip!  Enjoy!

  1. Sunflowers – although the south of France is noted for its lavender, there are many fields of sunflowers too.  These bright, yellow flowers instantly uplift and make you feel sunny – even if it is a little “spooky” that they are all facing towards the sun in rows!sunflowers
  2. Vineyards – yes, the south of France is famous for its wine too!  Touring a French vineyard (and the wine tasting which goes with it!) is a great idea to while away an hour or two in the afternoon!vineyard
  3. French Markets – local markets are full of essential oils, homemade crafts, quirky products, cheeses, meats, bread – and not forgetting a delicious French gateau or two!market
  4. People – people watching has to be an art in itself – you can learn a lot by watching other people at work or play, especially in a country that is not your own.peoplewatching
  5. Scenery – spectacular scenery and weather provides food for the soul.scenery
  6. New Friends –  say no more 🙂sharonlavender

Dee’s Delights ~ edition 23

Welcome to edition 23 of Dee’s Delights.  Here’s some things that have inspired, enriched and delighted me in the past week.

It has been another busy busy week of mostly work, lucky for me I love what I do.  I’ve been treating lots of clients to pampering, relaxing massage and spa treatments.  I’ve also been working on a timeline for the online marketing of my product range.  So so much to do….exciting times ahead.

In the small snippets of time when I wasn’t working or sleeping (and I did get some serious sleeping hours in last weekend 🙂 – yay!!!), I enjoyed and am grateful for…

♡ a lovely afternoon in Cairns with Andrew.

♡ my furry friends, who love it when I make up the guest room!

♡ a home-cooked roast dinner, thank you Jane!

♡ the lovely landscape I’m surrounded by…Snapper Island from the Julatten lookout ~ I get this view everyday on my way to work!

♡ strong home-brewed coffee by my friend Lydia – thank you honey!

♡ cooking healthy scrumptious food…red lentil and veggie soup ~ hearty and scrumptious!

♡ photography…I always have my camera with me these days.

♡ 100% pure essential oils…I use them everyday for energy and support!

♡ nature…flowers, trees, birds, butterflies.  These leaves are a great treatment room decoration.

♡ and a lovely Monday afternoon at home to finish this post and be creative.  I made a birthday card for my Mum and a bookmark for my niece to go with her special edition book “Coraline” for her birthday.

Clicketty Click….a few things from the online world that have brought me joy and inspiration in the last week.

I haven’t had much time for new discoveries but here are a few of my favourite facebook pages that will inspire and delight you…In Spaces Between, GastronoMel, Kitchen Kimakaze, Rawforbeauty and oh so many more!

And get your “Dee’s Daily Inspiration” on our facebook page.

Sadly, not much pinning this week either but I promise I will get back to it soon!  ooh, I did download the new Pinterest app to my iPad so I’m looking forward to checking out how that works.

Until next week…let yourself be inspired, enriched & delighted by life.  In the meantime, tell me, what has brought you joy lately? Please share your bliss in the comments below….c’mon don’t be shy 🙂

This week was go go go with work which always brings me pleasure and contentment…and in between there were lots of other happy moments…

  • Bubbles with one of my favourite friends…a lovely start to Thursday evening 🙂
  • A long chat with an old friend…Thank you Megan ~ what a positive, energetic, inspiring woman you are!
  • Some very beautiful words from a few of my Tranquillity Zone clients.  It’s so lovely to hear that you have enjoyed your treatments.  I absolutely love my work and your kind words bring joy to my heart and soul.
  • Saturday night with some friends at our place.  I cooked a chicken and almond stir fry…yum yum, even if I do say so myself.
  • A brilliantly relaxing Sunday at home…sleep, eggs on toast, coffee, this blog post and a chance to download a couple of photos I took during the week.
  • A bit of blog and business planning!

Charlotte Pass

Natural beauty, bare trees, big clouds, stunning sunsets, freezing fingers…these are some of the things of think of when I think about Charlotte Pass.  Andrew (my husband for those of you don’t know) and I used to visit the Kosciuszko National Park at least a couple of times a year when we lived in Sydney, now it’s less often but it’s a tradition of ours to drive up to Charlotte Pass just before sunset, cameras in gloved hands to soak up the beauty and hopefully get a few stunning snaps to take home with us.  This last trip in January was no exception and I have to say we were lucky to chose a beautiful evening…here’s a few highlights…
