Dee’s Delights

Hello there lovelies and thank you for popping in this week.  It’s two weeks since the last Dee’s Delights and we’ve had a lovely week off…back to reality today!  Here’s the greatness that has been going on…

Moving planning galore – wooooooooohooooooo!!!!

Clients in the Daintree…how beautiful are the mountains against the wet season sky?!

maa organics product samples sent to a new client.  I love creating new things for everyone!

a busy pre-weekend away Thursday…finishing off work stuff, getting house and cats ready!

B-School: WOW!!!  Great stuff.  Overwhelming.  Scary.   Unsure.  Am I doing it right?  Un-clarity (new word, that I’m sure needs to be in the dictionary!!!). Learning to just do it and knowing that I can change/adjust as I go along.  Loving the process of knowing that all this new knowledge is leading somewhere.  LOL, as you can see, many emotions but at the end of the day it’s all sooooooo good!

a beautiful weekend away in Canberra.  The best food. The Artisan.  Great wine.  The Urban Pantry.  Bubbles. Post dinner city walks. Chatty locals (thank you to Gemma and Jess for your amusing drunken conversation!!!).  Zaija treatments.  Cooked brekkies. Espresso. Jo Mercer shoes.  Driving ALL around Canberra. Property research.  More property research.  Manuka love.   See some pics in this post.

A couple of nice relaxing holiday days at home!

B-School meet up:  AWESOME!!!!  Gorgeous girls inside and out.  Inspiring.  Funny.  Sharing.  Caring. Laughs.  HUGE Thank you 🙂

Canberra, Thank You For A Lovely Weekend…

Last weekend we had a lovely time exploring and researching our soon to be new hometown. Here’s few picks to sum up the joy we found…

I have to admit to forgetting my camera on a couple of occasions so some things weren’t captured on film so to speak…like my perfect manicure at Zaija, beautiful brekkies, a to-die-for dinner at the Artisan, a walk along Lake Burley Griffin after visiting the Old Bus Depot Markets, Manuka cafes, shopping and I’m sure much more that has slipped my mind from what was a non-stop weekend!

Zaija ~ Beauty In Canberra

Zaija captured my attention the first time I walked past it…we had just arrived in Canberra and were on our way out to find a nice warm restaurant to dine in.  As some of you know I am a massage and spa therapist and have a passion for beautiful and inspiring people and businesses.  When I saw Zaija I knew that I just had to have a treatment there, so the next day I went in and made an appointment for a much needed manicure.

Simone at ZaijaWhen I arrived for my appointment I was greeted with a big smile by my therapist Simone and offered a tea or coffee.  I chose a peppermint tea ~ a great way to start the day ~ and sat down to fill out my client form.  Then I was taken over to the beautiful manicure area to choose my colour and have my treatment.  I have to say it was the best manicure I’ve had in a long time.  The attention to detail was perfect.  Simone was friendly but at the same time very professional.  Plus we got to talk shop as so often happens and she showed me through the salon after my treatment.

I absolutely love the design and layout of Zaija, their extensive menu and the friendly staff.  I was even lucky enough to meet the owner who told me it has been her dream to create Zaija for many years.  I am sure it is going to be a success!  They had only been opened a couple of weeks but they certainly have their customer service spot on!

massage at ZaijaWe might be visiting friends for a weekend later it the year so I can’t wait to go back to Zaija.  I’ve just been looking at their menu…massage, body treatments, beauty and hair…what more could you want?  oh, I also forgot to mention that as well as coffee, tea and light meals they have champagne on the menu.  If you live in Canberra why not grab a girlfriend and have a little time out for yourself.  A glass of bubbles and a pampering treatment is good for the soul!

They are opened 7 days at Shop CG05/06 Canberra Centre City Walk, Canberra ACT 2600. For more details visit their website here or call them on 02 6247 9462.

Until next time…let yourself be inspired, enriched and delighted by lifes little pleasures ♡

Dinner For Two At The Urban Pantry

As some of you know my husband, Andrew, and I had a little break in late June that included some time in Canberra.  I can’t remember the last time I spent more than an hour or two (having coffee or lunch on our way to the snow) in Canberra but this time we stayed for a few days and it was fabulous…nice hotel, sunny days, shopping and LOTS of eating out!  The Urban Pantry was just one of the fabulous restaurants we went to…

The atmosphere here was just superb and the service matched it.  Rob looked after us on the night and he, along with all the staff were happy, friendly and obviously loving their jobs.

And the menu – it was sooooo hard to choose!

I ordered the braised duck pappardelle and Andrew had coq au vin from the specials board…not much talking going on once they arrived at our table!

Funnily enough there was still room for dessert, after we enjoyed finishing our wine and let our tummys rest!  Frangelico affogato for me and traditional dutch apple dumplings for Andrew.  Delish!

Have you been to the Urban Pantry?  It’s a must do if you live in Canberra or next time you’re passing through make sure it’s on your to-do list.

They are opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner…check it all out on their website and facebook page.

Until next time…let yourself be inspired, enriched and delighted by lifes little pleasures ♡
