Welcome everyone to this weeks Aromatherapy Blend. It’s quite a special one this week. One of my very best friends and blogger at i am not a celebrity, Kate, who some of you have met before here, asked me to create a custom blend based around lavender. Of course, I was only too happy to help.
Those of you who read Kate’s blog and follow her on social media will know she is about to move house and has been training for a half-marathon. Thinking about her current busy schedule, some essential oils immediately sprung to mind and as luck would have it Kate loved the sound of the blend. And I learnt something new about my friend..that she loves Ginger and Bergamot! I only wish we lived closer, not only so I could personally deliver this blend to her, but so we could catch up like old times…perhaps a glass or two of bubbly, but I digress…
Even though moving can feel like one of the most exciting adventures, it is also stressful and tiring too. Planning, organising, throwing stuff out, packing and then doing the same at the other end. Add to that training for a marathon and there is not a spare moment to be had! That’s why this essential oil blend is perfect. It’s going to you one big boost. It is for de-stressing, re-energising and renewing. So if you’ve been feeling stressed, tired, are working too hard or have been pushing your body to it’s limits this is for you.
As I mentioned it is based around Lavender which to me is an absolute must have for everyone, an all round fix-it oil.
Lavender Boost Blend
Lavender ~ is THE oil for normalising on an emotional and physical level. It is balancing, healing, relaxing and brings comfort and strength to the soul. It is anti-stress and anti-anxiety, very calming and sedating making it great for treating panic, shock, stress, nervous tension and insomnia. It soothes the emotions and calms the mind for positive decision making. It is also antiseptic and antispasmodic. It is great for the skin, headaches, insomnia and muscular aches & pains.
Ginger ~ is grounding, soothing and calming. It is a physical & spiritual cleanser. It promotes self-confidence, courage and clarity. It warms the body and promotes circulation. It soothes tired sore muscles. It fights fatigue, increases vitality and endurance. It helps reduce symptoms of colds, coughs & sore throats. It is also great for travel sickness, nausea and mental fatigue.
Grapefruit ~ is uplifting, restorative and reviving. It is perfect in times of stress, depression, nervous and mental exhaustion. It brings about balance, positive energy, and vitality and enhances creativity and inspiration. It reduces exhaustion, frustration and irritability. giving clarity of thought and the energy to face challenges. It is cleansing on a physical and mental level. It is also a diuretic and great for detoxing and cleansing the body.
Bergamot ~ is truly balancing. It’s uplifting yet sedative nature make it perfect for reducing anxiety and depression. It is strengthening and soothing, gentle and joyous, refreshing and restoring. It is particularly good for burn-out and stress. It brings relaxation, rejuvenation and positive energy. It is great for motivation, strength and fulfillment. It’s antispasmodic action makes it great for the digestive system and it is a useful antiseptic for the respiratory system. It is also great for skin conditions such as cold sores, acne and eczema.
