Last week I was lucky enough to have dinner at Watergate Restaurant. I’ve been there for a drink and tapas aaaages ago but never for dinner. I’d only heard great things about it so was really looking forward to going. And since it was Andrew’s birthday we had the perfect excuse to indulge! We were joined by some friends who also had a birthday to celebrate. We all had an absolutely fantastic night…lots of laughs, great food, smooth wine, nice atmosphere and excellent service – a big thank you to Alicia for looking after us.
We started with a drink in the bar before ordering our scrumptious dinner…
a lovely bottle of red wine…ooh lucky me, I didn’t have to drive!
Garlic Prawn Hotpot, I’m assured it was very tasty!
Reef Snapper on a smoked fish and chive risotto cake with sundried tomato, almond and rocket salad and a harissa beurre blanc…not a morsel left on my plate!!!
Moreton Bay Bug Ravioli with a chardonnay, leek and cream sauce and salmon roe
dessert… Watergate is a dessert lovers paradise!
Banana and Macadamia Pudding…absolutely scrumptious! Sorry I didn’t get my camera before the birthday sparkler went out!
Chocolate and Pear Mud Cake
nothing like finishing off a fantastic meal with an espresso.
It all looks so so good doesn’t it? It was superb…so next time you’re in Port Douglas book in for dinner or just drop in for a drink at the stunning bar.
Until we next meet…let yourself be inspired, enriched and delighted by life’s little pleasures ♡
