The Importance of Stress Reduction

I am constantly reading about the effects of stress & seeing it when I treat my clients.  It is widespread & one of the major causes of dis-ease in our society today. It can lead to all kinds of imbalances of the mind, body and soul.

The effects of stress are different for everyone but may include anxiety, depression, stomach problems, high blood pressure, headaches, skin disorders, hair loss, poor immune system & the list goes on.

Sometimes we don’t realise how stressed we are until one day it catches up with us!  So ask yourself now if you need to reduce your stress levels to ensure a happy & healthy future.  The concept of ‘stress reduction’ is one we need to place a high value on.

It may seem almost impossible to reduce the stress we have in our daily lives but it is so important that we all take steps to minimise it as much as possible.  The lower our daily stress levels are the more able we are to cope when more stressful situations arise.

The first changes we make don’t have to be huge.  Take small steps to reduce your stress…

  • Take regular short breaks during the day.
  • Eat well.
  • Exercise regularly.
  • Talk to friends.
  • Do something for yourself every day – use your favourite essential oils, listen to music, light a candle, read a book, have an aromatic bath, do some yoga……whatever brings you happiness!
